My Role
Enhance the user experience for data filtering within the product by redesigning and developing a scalable, reusable component in the Design System that can be seamlessly applied across all use cases requiring data filtering.
The Problem
Filtering through data like invoices, bank transactions, and other records to find specific information can be challenging. Using filters such as date and status, particularly on smaller screens, is often not intuitive or user-friendly.
User Testing
User testing was used to determine which was the preferred design approach.

Insights
Customers felt that we were heading in the right direction and that the filter bar is looking a lot better and easier to use.
Users found status, type and other attributes easier to find in modal, they found it easy to clear filters and favoured the search input to find clients.
Some participants prefer to search by surname rather than first name when looking for a client, they also liked the checkboxes in the modal.
